Psychological Evaluation

Brilliant Minds’ Psychological Evaluation assesses preschool and school-aged students to determine  their functioning in areas associated with learning, behavior, social skills, mood, anxiety and cognitive processing. A norm-referenced psychological tests and numerous components  such as student’s records, students/parent interviews, classroom observation and other observational data/methods are utilized to evaluate a child’s strengths and weaknesses across many areas. Psychological assessments are reviewed by student’s local school districts’ Child Study Team in conjunction with other reports as well as classroom achievements and accommodations to determine if  psycological needs exist and the child meets the criteria for New Jersey Special Education eligibility. A detailed  written report, outlined recommendations and possible goal development for psychological services for the child is also shared with parents. All psychological evaluations are conducted by a licensed School Psychologist, State of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Consumer Affairs, Board of Psychological Examiners pursuant to N.J.S.A. and N.J.A.C. State of New Jersey Department of Education, Division of Licensure and Credentials. Admin N.J. Admin. Code § N.J.A.C.6A:145.1 and N.J.A.C6A:14-5.2.
